I just want to double check that I am reading this standard correctly, as the progressions mention students moving from counting words to counting out objects. Does this standard refer to saying the counting words 1 – 100, or counting 100 objects by ones and later tens?
This is an example where the cluster heading provides valuable information not obvious from the standard itself. The cluster heading here is “Know number names and the count sequence”, and so this standard just refers to the counting words, not to counting objects.
