Our NYS district is looking to implement quarterly benchmarks at each grade level to monitor student achievement of the CCLS.  Is there anything that exists to support our efforts?  I have looked at the sample questions for the 3 -5 state tests for ideas but have yet to find anything for K-2.  We will be starting from scratch like many districts to create these assessments but hope that there will be some guidance provided.  Is there any effort underway in this area?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am still looking for any resources.  Does anyone have any advice in this area?

Sorry, no, I was hoping somebody reading this might have something. Of course you can keep an eye on illustrativemathematics.org as it rolls out sample tasks, and we are working on some tasks specifically for assessment, although probably not at the K–2 level. It could be that people are focusing on grades above that because that’s where the assessment consortia are focusing.
